GRAND HOTEL
Meet the Characters

Julio is the handsome brother that will do anything to get to the bottom of his sister's disappearance at the Grand Hotel. Even if that means impersonating both a waiter and family member in the same night. We don't know too much about him, except that he is a loyal sibling, filled with street smarts and is completely infatuated by Alicia Alarcón— one of the daughters of the hotel's owner, Dona Teresa. And let's not forget, he's easy on the eyes.

Where in Cantaloa is Cristina Olmedo? Well, we're not exactly sure. All we know about Cristina is that within 8 months of being hired, she was promoted to floor manager above her colleagues. Which made some of them (one in particular) very jealous. When Cristina is accused by the hotel's owner of stealing, Cristina not only denies it, but warns her boss that she can't be harmed on hotel grounds. Cut to Cristina running away from the hotel, being chased by a mysterious knife-wielding man.

While Alicia has hopes to continue her University study and travel the world, her mother Doña Teresa has other plans. The black sheep of the family, Alicia actually cares for the hotel's employees. She addresses them by name and hugs the ones she grew up with. Upon her return to the hotel, her mother ambushes her with a forced marriage to family friend Diego. Who —surprise!— has ulterior motives.

Controlling mother? Check. Possible killer? Check check. This woman has got all the power, and she's not afraid to use it. While forcing her eldest daughter into marriage because her only son is too much of an alcoholic to take care of the family business— Doña Teresa still finds time to threaten and possibly send out hit men to take care of her dirty work. While of course none of this is proven, she is not subtle about range of her influence. Whatever her end game is, she's dangerous.

Oh Javier. The drunk. The drug addict. The family disgrace. The family hotel business was meant to trickle down into his hands after the mysterious and sudden death of his father, Mr. Carlos Alarcón. However, Javier's wits and deadly sins got the best of him. His mother Doña Teresa is doing everything in her power to see that he is never in charge.

One of Alarcón siblings, Sofia actually seems to have her life together. Happily married, with a child on the way, she and her husband are in hopes that her mother will officially pass down the hotel business to them. Unfortunately, Mama Teresa is not thrilled by that idea and purposefully gives the family business to Alicia and Diego once their forced marriage becomes official. Mama Teresa's idea of course.

While we're introduced to Diego as being a loyal family friend looking to find true love with Alicia, we're proven DEAD wrong in the last 15 seconds of Episode 1. What exactly is up his sleeve, we're not too sure. However, we do know he's not to be trusted.

If you're looking for a plot twist, look no further than maid Belen. Jealous of Cristina's quick promotion over her, Belen hides this feeling to anyone who asks her about Cristina's disappearance. A maid working at the hotel for over 7 years, Belen does more than just fold sheets. In fact, she's pretty comfortable with one man in particular...

Andrés is a longtime waiter at the Grand Hotel and seems to be the only friend of the missing Cristina. With resistance at the beginning, Andrés helps Julio impersonate a waiter to get to the bottom of his sister's disappearance. Andres' mother Angela is in charge of all the maids, so he's in good company. Oh, and did I mention he's dating Belen. Yep, THAT Belen.

Alfredo is Sofia's husband. From a well-known, wealthy family, Alfredo's name gives the Alarcón family the status they lost when Don Carlos Alarcón passed. Due to the fact that he is most qualified, he hopes to be the next owner of the Grand Hotel. Doña Teresa has other ideas.

Ángela is in charge of the maids at the Grand Hotel. She is also Andres' mother. Sweet and hard-working, she only wants what's best for her son and the Grand Hotel.

Benjamin is the head of the male waiters of the Hotel. We don't know too much about him, except that he is a loyal employee and always has a stern look on his face. Where his loyalties lie is still up for debate..
