Amanda Bynes is back and healthier than ever on the cover of Paper Magazine’s “Break the Internet” issue. An issue typically coveted with sexually explicit and shockvalue images, (i.e. Nicki Minaj: ‘Minaj A Trois’ Break the Internet and Kim Kardashian: Break the Internet), Bynes as the cover star is just as substantial.
In the article Bynes discusses the beginning of her body dysmorphia and her drug addictions, specifically with adderall. Her infamous tweets, which were usually sent while high- was a wake up call. From wanting Drake to “pound her vagina” and other superficially entertaining, but genuinely concerning tweets, Amanda has GONE THROUGH IT YA’LL. In her fourth year of sobriety, Bynes credits her family for helping her rediscover her purpose and rediscovering her passion for acting. As a current fulltime student at FIDM, Bynes is at an exciting turning point where she is healthy enough to continue her acting career with the same bravery she had as a child.

It’s telling that Paper Magazine gave this "Break the Internet" title to Amanda Bynes. The story of redemption, recovery and re-embarking on a new journey. This cover issue gives a glimmer of hope during such an emotionally exhaustive year. Her issue is a success story in an otherwise redundant tragedy of celebrity overdoses and gone-too-soon drug related deaths.
In a social media driven world where anyone can be cancelled for a regrettable 140 character statement, Bynes’ admittance of her mistakes and taking ownership for her flaws is refreshing for all of us; in knowing that there is always the possibility of a reset button.
