"our incredible journey is only just beginning," Trump says to his supporters

After the historic and completely embarrassing event at the Capitol by Trump supporters on Wednesday, Trump took to Youtube to publicly accept a peaceful transfer of power to President-elect Joe Biden. After being permanently banned from every other social media platform that would have allowed him to produce an informal message— Trump proved to still be successful in his purpose of hate and division.

To conclude his nearly 2 minute, overly edited video, Trump says: “And to all of my wonderful supporters I know that you are disappointed ,but I also want you to know that our incredible journey is only just beginning.”

To end his official statement reprimanding yesterday’s failed coup d'etat with “our incredible journey is only beginning” is intentional. There is nothing "wonderful" or "incredible" about vandalizing our Capitol and devaluing the democracy our country (and our military) fights for.

Do not be fooled by his pre-written apology in an effort to remain in power for the next 13 days. His supporters are not fooled. A terrifying glance at the comment section shows that they are more inspired than ever.

We cannot fall for this. To keep this dictator, this white nationalist, and this sex offender in office will continue to tarnish our democracy. We cannot accept this “apology” in which accountability is nowhere to be seen or heard. We cannot let this be his legacy. His legacy should be impeachment. His legacy should be a historic Office removal. His legacy should be that racism, homophobia, sexism, xenophobia, and any other type of hatred will not prevail in this country. Because this country was built on the backs, minds, beauty and collaboration of every single hardworking individual that calls this continent home. Democracy must win.
